Slim Bone Heru - Manaia Hook Design

Size (mm): 150 L x 25 W.

Supplied loose in a cellophane bag. Each piece is individually carved and pāua inserted, so variations in colour do occur.

A Heru is a traditional ornamental comb of the Māori of New Zealand. They were carved from a solid piece of either wood or whalebone. They were used by men to fasten their long hair up into top knots.

The Manaia represents protection against evil. The hook shape is good for catching good fortune.
