Bone Toki Pendant with Tiki
Size (mm): 100 L x 35 W
This bone carving is a beautiful piece of Maori jewellery. This design shows a Tiki peaking out from behind this Toki. The Tiki has been stained to add another layer of beauty. The binding is tight, which is paramount for a long-lasting Toki. This Maori necklace comes with a black wax cord. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Each carving is supplied loose in a plastic bag. Each piece is individually carved so slight variations can occur.
The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Maori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.
The Tiki represents the human form and one's ancestors. Traditionally passed from parent to child or used for protection and good luck.
