Koru Heart – Handcrafted Mahogany Wood Wall Hanging | New Zealand Gift

The Koru Heart is a hand-carved wooden wall hanging featuring a heart design with flowing koru whirls. Made from mahogany, it makes a distinctive New Zealand gift, souvenir or decorative piece for those looking for meaningful home décor or a memorable keepsake.

Featuring three beautifully carved koru spirals within an open heart shape, this piece is suited to wall display, making it a thoughtful gift or decorative reminder of New Zealand.

The Story Behind the Koru

The koru is a Māori word meaning “loop” or “coil”, inspired by the unfurling frond of a native New Zealand fern.

The koru is associated with new beginnings, growth and life, renewal, perpetual movement, connection to one's roots and whakapapa, and harmony and balance. Its circular form reflects the idea of continual movement while remaining connected to its source.

In this wall hanging, the flowing koru whirls are brought together within a heart shape, creating a design that represents connection, growth and enduring bonds.

Crafted in Wood

Made from mahogany, this piece is hand-carved and finished in a stained colour. The carved form highlights the flowing curves of the heart and koru design.

Natural variations in wood grain, colour and finish may occur, making each piece individual.
