Intricate Māori Door Lintel Carving

Size (mm) : 660 L x 220 H x 28 T

This carving is made from Mahogany wood and depicts a traditional Mãori door lintel. These carvings are mounted above a doorway to ward off evil spirits. The lintel (pare) above the doorway is considered one of the most important carvings.

You cannot easily buy such a carving as most carvers only make these to order due to the large amount of work involved.

(Note: As each piece is handcrafted, variations in wood grain and colour may occur, adding to the uniqueness of each carving.)
