Made in-house by Discoveries NZ, this 300 mm square canvas artwork brings together meaningful words, decorative detail and a celebration of family.
The Meaning Behind Whānau and Aroha
Whānau is the Māori word for family, while aroha expresses love, affection, compassion and care. Together, these words celebrate the bonds that connect us and the people who make life special.
The message, “Where life begins and Aroha never ends,” makes this artwork a thoughtful reminder of the enduring love shared between family and loved ones.
A Distinctive Mini Korowai Design
Inspired by the appearance of a Māori korowai, this decorative canvas features layers of natural feathers in purple and black. A purple-black-and-white Poutama band adds a geometric, step-like pattern, complemented by a white bone carving.
Poutama is commonly associated with steps, learning and advancement. Its stepped design can represent the journey of gaining knowledge and progressing through life.
The rich colours and carefully arranged details give this mini korowai artwork a distinctive presence, while the Whānau message brings its focus back to family and connection.
A Meaningful New Zealand Gift
Looking for a thoughtful gift for someone close to your heart? The Whānau Mini Korowai Canvas Art is a lovely way to celebrate family, love and connection.
It could be a meaningful gift for parents, grandparents, siblings, friends or anyone who treasures their whānau. It also makes a distinctive New Zealand gift or souvenir for someone wanting to take home a piece of art with a heartfelt message.
